After taking 7 months off, Robbie Radis has
returned straight to top form taking out the Neil Pryde Cervantes
Speed Trial event on the new Gladiator
90 freeride board.
Day one of the Neilpryde Cervantes speed
trial saw the
wind only reach 10 to 12 knot's so the event was put on hold until
the forecast where it was looking good for day two. Day two arrived with
12 to 15 knots and Steve Strathfold (Neilpryde/custom) set the early
pace with a 56km run closely followed by Claude Lequoc
(Arrow's/Kinetic) 55km.
Robbie Radis (Neilpryde/Kinetic) who took
to the water keen
to try out the new Kinetic Gladiator 90 freeride board. First
run Radis took the top spot with a 57km run then followed
up with a 58km run before coming back to the beach. Into the afternoon
saw the wind pick up to 18 knots where Strathfold took back the
lead with a 59km run but then it was the Veteran Neils Rusmussen
(Nielpryde/Starboard) who put down the run of the day with
a 60km run.
After watching these runs before him Radis took
to the water and got back the lead with a 62km run. The wind
took a dive dropping down to 15km and the event was declared over at
4.00pm.
So it was Robbie Radis with his 62km run to take out the event
for the second year in a row, with Neils Rasmussen taking second.
